My “didn’t quite make it list for 2007
By Tan Jek Hui | January 16, 2008
I have recently found a channel on Astro that I have added in my “channel surf list. My regular channels are 411 - HBO, 412 - Cinemax, 413 - STAR MOVIES, 511 - CNN, 512 - BBC World, 713 - MTV, 714 - Channel [V] and now E! on channel 712. Why? Whaddaya mean why? E! is educational. Hahaha. Yes, it is! E! is the equivalent of the National Geographic Channel focused on the animal kingdom of celebrities.
I added E! for 3 reasons. Firstly because it brings me a step closer to Jessica Alba (whom my wife casually refers to as my girlfriend… I wish!), Debbie Matenopoulos (Google her up) and finally because I get a brain massage. Knowing that yet another blond celebrity was charged with DUI makes my head throb with the puzzlement of not knowing how to deal with the information. 30 minutes later when I turn off the Telly, my brain is released from the throbbing, a zillion brain cells are destroyed… and I’m in a state of tranquillity again. Ahhh… brain massage.
E! features lots of lists. I like lists. The Forbes List, Daily 10, 101 most sexiest bodies… the list truly goes on. Lists are not new. David Letterman has his lists and going way way back… even Schindler had a list. So, to honour my new favourite channel, I have come up with my own list of events and things that didn’t quite make it in 2007.
In no particular order, I present you my “didn’t quite make it list for 2007:
1. Internet Protocol telephony did NOT take over the voice communications world as many people suggested.
2. The iPhone did NOT revolutionize the way we all live.
3. Neither of the web giants acquired controlling stake of Facebook.
4. The broadband arena in Malaysia did NOT get significantly better. Surprise… surprise.
5. Windows Vista didn’t quite make it. Enough said.
6. HD DVD and Blu-ray did NOT quite make it. In fact, they are re-enacting the VHS vs. Betamax drama.
7. Google Docs did NOT conquer the Microsoft Office customer base.
8. 802.11n have NOT sorted out the standards and compatibility issues.
9. SecondLife did NOT turn out to be the Matrix world that we wanted it to be. Dang! I would have loved to say, “Whoa! like Neo.
… and my personal favourite…
10. Integricity Corporation did NOT move to a bungalow office in spite of all the initial excitement. However, we ARE moving. Alex might upload some photos of our new office which is still under renovation.
Well, that is my list. Let’s hope some of these things change for the better in 2008. Until then, *changes channel*… I’m back on E!

Huh? Won in what sense? Sales? Or did New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios… and the others switch camp?

Okay okay… *looking slightly defeated*… good article from Gadget Crunch… I give you that. Poor Paramount, they must feel like the just the only kid left on the block with a Sega Mega Drive.
BUT… riddle me this… riddle me that…
… has the porn industry switched to Blu-ray? Hmmm? *raises eyebrow like The Rock*
