Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

We’ll keep this announcement short and get straight to the point.
MYNIC has now launched .my Second Level Domain Names to the public.
What this means is that you can now register domain names like company.my, anything.my or you.my.
(Prior to today you could only register third level domain names, like company.com.my, anything.net.my or you.org.my.)
Shorten and strip out [...]

SSD – The not so there yet technology?

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

For the uninitiated, SSD stands for Solid State Disk which is a new form of storage that was destined to replace the traditional HDD (hard disk drives) everyone is currently using on laptops. What’s the difference? Well for one, SSDs do not have moving parts, kind of like your SD cards and thumbdrives. So it [...]

Death of Malaysian media as advertisers see it?

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

Found this really great article on ADOI’s blog. A must-read for those who spend thousands and millions on ads: You’re wasting your money on media that is becoming more and more irrelevant day by day.
I’ve been saying this to our clients for the longest time: Spend your money where your audience is. And if the [...]

Fanatical Integricity INDEED!

Friday, March 14th, 2008

I must say I quite enjoy the wacky zany culture in Integricity Corporation. The team is made up of creative geniuses, who churn out amazing work. I had the privilege of shooting some rather unusual profile photos of the entire staff team - all 25 of them, to place on their up and coming, revamped [...]

Saying Sorry…

Friday, March 14th, 2008

“My name is Alex, and today is the longest day of my life” - For fans of the popular series 24, you can identify with that phrase.
Here at Integricity, we’ve been having a few technical outages at the data centre with our servers, the networks, over the last day. Some of it is within our [...]

For the more technically savvy and those who really want to know a bit more about whois, IP Addresses, DNS, etc… here’s some info for you.
Looks like Malaysiakini stepped in really swiftly to update their domain name record to change their DNS servers. Here’s how their record looked like pre-midnight.
Domain Name: malaysiakini.com
Status: clientTransferProhibited
Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, [...]

Malaysia Votes and We Watch the Internet!

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

I’m currently staying abreast of the elections which are on-going, together with my family. But contrary to the last time I voted, I’m following the results in even more-realtime as compared to merely watching TV. This year, many of my friends and I (you probably did it too) are logged online with laptops on our, [...]

I Voted Today, Did You?

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

We’ve heard the radio ads, seen the newspaper ads, watched the TV ads - indeed, everyone knows the importance of going to the elections - or they should! This year, more of my friends are registered to vote - only a few have not, and the rest of us are egging them to register to [...]

Barisan Nasional and Barack Obama

Friday, March 7th, 2008

BN’s election campaign has been pretty much an onslaught to all my senses. I can’t turn on the radio, flip through the papers or surf the web without seeing and hearing them!
So I really couldn’t help but to see this:

It looked really familiar, somehow. Check this out:

How about a side-by-side, actual-sized, comparison:

Looks like both parties [...]

Yahoo - Innocent bystander or key to internet dominance?

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

A little over a month ago, Microsoft made an unsolicited bid to buy Yahoo for $31 a share in cash and stock, valuing the company at $44.6 billion - a bid which Yahoo’s board rejected, saying it undervalued the company. Steve Ballmer has indicated that he won’t take “noâ€? for an answer and Bill Gates [...]
